The Annual TKA Magazine—Created by Our Students
Each year, TKA students come together to create their very own magazine.
Children can contribute stories, artwork, interviews, photographs, facts and creative projects inspired by their learning and adventures. Along the way, they experience what it’s like to be a writer, researcher, designer or illustrator—and see their ideas become part of something real.
It’s a meaningful way for our students to share their voices, celebrate their creativity and feel connected to the wider TKA community.

Hi, I'm Liss!
We were in a place of overwhelm. The kids were wondering if they were actually getting an education, we knew our travels provided a lot of learning opportunities but we couldn’t quite piece it together and we needed support to do so.
TKA was born out of what we were lacking and many others on the road. We needed flexibility, community, easy to do learning prompts using what we had on the road, variety and personalized topics to engage my kids. Over time TKA has evolved and is still with every new travel family who joins adding a new element.
Hi, I'm Cush,
I had always dreamed of being a teacher and after getting there in an untraditional way - I was happy in my teacher bubble. I ended up at an alternative school that challenged the norm, did things that were in the best interests of the whole child and ultimately made school FUN.
What I didn't plan for was going on to finish my Masters in teaching (on maternity leave) just to decide I didn't want to go back to the classroom 🤣 since becoming a mum and diving deep into homeschooling I realised perhaps I needed to update a few of my learnings.
I am a big believer that learning is not seperate to life, it is all encompassed in our day to day. There is so much learning happening around us, we just need to tap into it. My passion lies in creating fun projects for Traveling Kids Academy that focuses on interests, passions, strengths. All while having maximum fun and learning through their travels.

Cush will get to work choosing the best Study Units & supporting you through your application to Homeschool - inclusive of your 12 mth learning plan.

Active Travel Starts
As the road beckons, we're your steady companions.
You now have everything needed to begin Travel schooling. You may choose to go off grid or jump into our interactive weekly Zoom meetings bringing us face-to-face, bridging the miles and creating a vibrant community where parents and children learn from one another.
Our weekly lessons fuel curious minds and encourages a love for learning that extends beyond traditional classrooms.
STEP 4
Finding Your Groove
Celebrating victories – big and small. The quarterly progress parties are your chance to revel in your achievements and connect with fellow nomadic families. These parties are more than just milestones; they're a testament to your dedication and growth.

Each term you'll get an end of term reflection to complete so you can document how far your child has come with their learning.
